Newport, RI, May 23-36, 2008

Over Memorial Day weekend, 2008, Yana and I went to Newport, RI.

On the way up, we stopped at Mystic Pizza in Mystic, Ct.

(Yes, the pizza place from the movie)

We got to Newport in the afternoon, and had a snack at the Black Pearl.

At night, we went to a restaurant called The Mooring. Food was decent.

This boat had a great name.

The next day, we went to see the mansions.

THe first mansion we saw was The Breakers, where the Vanderbilt's summered

The view of the water.

No pictures were allowed inside, so we had to settle for a view of the front.

Next, we headed to The Elms, which was owned by Edward Berwind, a coal barron.

There were lots of flowering trees.

And a weeping willow.
